The stacks at our Main Diesel Plant are getting a facelift!

Our Power Generation mechanics began the process in August by replacing the old rusty stack on Diesel Unit #1, the oldest of the four units, with a shiny new combination exhaust stack/silencer.

The stacks for the other three units will also be replaced by the end of October. The new stacks are constructed of stainless steel, which is highly resistant to corrosion, so we expect our maintenance costs will be lower. Each stack has built-in emission reduction technology that will reduce exhaust oderand exhaust emmissions.
