The Sound of Silence from Exhaust Stacks for Kodiak Power House Diesel Generators

“Diesel generators that once served now sit mostly idle.”  What an attention getting statement in   Public Utilities Fortnightly’s February 2015 magazine!  The article by Peter Asmus, “Microgrids: Friend or Foe for Utilities”,  included a section titled “Kodiak Island:  A Case Study”.  It describes our evolutional journey from ten years ago to present day, resulting in KEA achieving 99.7% of our power from cost effective renewable energy in 2014.  It’s an honor for KEA to be included in this premiere publication about important current news in energy, money and power.
